Pokémon Sleep

Pokémon Sleep is an app that makes sleep tracking fun! Anyone can play this game, but the 8-hour and 30-minute sleep requirement suggests that it is aimed at middle schoolers who require more sleep than adults. However, as a 27-year-old adult, I find that this game helps me keep a normal sleep schedule. How is that?

The point of the game is researching different Pokémon and how they sleep while collecting them. Your growing collection of Pokémon helps you feed your Snorlax for the week at one of six research zones. Feeding your Snorlax levels it up, and the more you level up your Snorlax, the more Pokémon you will find in the morning. You feed your Snorlax three times a day to help level them up throughout the day. Meanwhile, your four Pokémon of choice will collect berries and perform different skills depending on the Pokémon, all with the tap of your finger!

One of the features that helps me sleep better is being able to set a bedtime for myself and getting rewarded with an item in the morning if I stick to it. There are also little tasks the game has you do for items, as well, that you complete throughout the week. Another feature that keeps me using this app is the invite a friend feature, where you invite a friend to be your study buddy, and you can see what Pokémon they saw each day, and also gives you candy of the Pokémon they saw, and just like Pokémon GO, you need candy to level up your Pokémon. I highly recommend playing with a buddy. My research buddy is my boss from work.

I do have a couple of issues with the game. Firstly, I feel like we need more Pokémon, and the updates for them feel slow. Secondly, if you are using your phone, then you can't ever put that phone to sleep, otherwise it won't track your sleep that night. And finally, there are points that this game likes to crash in the middle of the night during sleep tracking time. It's not very often, but it's very annoying when it does happen and you can't add the time you missed cause the game will think you are overlapping and therefore cheating.

Overall, though, this is a great sleep tracker that is fun to use, and I highly recommend it, especially if you have young ones in your life who love Pokémon. This game is avaiable on mobile and tablet devices.
